The checklist is accessible by browsing or searching. To browse,
simply click the links, above left. To search, enter one or more
search criteria in the form (above right) and press the Search button.
The search form contains three types of input controls: drop-down
list boxes, simple text boxes, and a numeric range interpreter.
Drop-down list boxes limit search criteria to values actually contained
in the Checklist. Text boxes accept any input and will perform a
sub-string search (i.e., "contains") for the value entered.
For example, entering "stella" in the Genus field would
match "Pseudostellaria" and "Stellaria". (Searches
are not case sensitive.) The Year field accepts three forms of input:
a single year value (e.g., "1960"), an inclusive range
(e.g., 1940-1960), or an open-ended range (e.g., "-1780"
or "1995-"). Two or more search criteria will be interpreted
as a conjunction; only records matching all criteria will be returned.
