Apparently appeared first as name only in Bleeker 1859:431 [ref. 370] and dates to Bleeker 1859 as above (see Kottelat 1999:594 [ref. 24610]). Kottelat 2013:479 [ref. 32660] selects Cyclocheilichthys over Anematichthys. •Synonym of Cyclocheilichthys Bleeker 1860 -- (Roberts 1989:33 [ref. 6439], Kottelat 1999:596 [ref. 24610]). •Valid as Anematichthys (Bleeker 1859) -- (Pasco-Viel et al. 2012:41 [ref. 32355]). • Synonym of Cyclocheilichthys Bleeker 1859 -- (Kottelat 2013:479 [ref. 32660], Kottelat 2013:91 [ref. 32989], Yang et al. 2015:99 [ref. 33694] in Cyprininae, tribe Poropuntiini).
