Brachypetersius (subgenus of Phenacogrammus) Hoedeman [J. J.] 1956:559-560 Masc. Micralestes altus Boulenger 1899. Type by original designation (also monotypic). First appeared in Hoedeman 1951:8 [ref. 2178] as a new subgenus of Alestopetersius but not available (no fixation of type species after 1930, Art. 13.3). Unfortunately, a line was missing in the key on p. 7. From BB. on, all subgenera were intended as belonging to the genus Phenacogrammus.
