Syntypes: BMNH 1911.4.1.33-34 (2), QM (1, not found in 1997). •Possibly a synonym of Scleropages leichardti (Günther 1864) -- (Pusey et al. 2016:75 et seq. [ref. 34798]). •Valid as Scleropages jardinii (Saville-Kent 1892) -- (Roberts 1978:30 [ref. 8886] as jardini, Paxton et al. 1989:103 [ref. 12442], Larson & Martin 1990:3 [ref. 16606], Allen 1991:37 [ref. 21090], Kottelat et al. 1993:3 [ref. 23448], Pusey et al. 2000:72 [ref. 24466], Allen et al. 2000:25 [ref. 27467], Unmack 2001:1060 [ref. 25797], Chen 2002:291 [ref. 26587] as jardini, Pouyaud et al. 2003:293 [ref. 27527], Allen et al. 2006:218 [ref. 29004], Allen et al. 2008:30 [ref. 30265], Larson et al. 2013:23 [ref. 32988], Pusey et al. 2017:15 [ref. 35250]). Current status: Valid as Scleropages jardinii (Saville-Kent 1892). Osteoglossidae. Distribution: Northern Australia and New Guinea. Habitat: freshwater.
