Neotype designated by Fricke 1999:33 [ref. 24101], but withdrawn in Fricke 2000:639 [ref. 24537]. •Valid as Neocolliolus esmarkii (Nilsson 1855) -- (Gaemers 1976:516 [ref. 34968], Gaemers 2016:26 [ref. 34969]). •Valid as Trisopterus esmarkii (Nilsson 1855) -- (Svetovidov 1973:310 [ref. 7169], Svetovidov in Whitehead et al. 1986:693 [ref. 13676], Cohen in Cohen et al. 1990:77 [ref. 18936], Endo in Okamura et al. 1995:117 [ref. 22531], Carr et al. 1999:20 [ref. 24219], Fricke 1999:33 [ref. 24101], Fricke 2007:26 [ref. 30577], Møller et al. 2010:41 [ref. 31169], Delling et al. 2011:1236 [ref. 31990], Gonzalez et al. 2012:1017 [ref. 32369], Parin et al. 2014:179 [ref. 33547], Mecklenburg et al. 2018:160 [ref. 36370]). Current status: Valid as Trisopterus esmarkii (Nilsson 1855). Gadidae. Distribution: North Atlantic (including Greenland, western Baltic Sea, North Sea to southern France) and adjacent Arctic regions. Habitat: marine.
