S.] 1959:147, Pls. 1-2 [Videnskabelige Meddelelser fra Dansk Naturhistorisk Forening, Kjøbenhavn v. 121; ref. 842] Yemoji River, southern Ijebu Province, western Nigeria. Holotype: ZMUC P17151. Paratypes: (68) BMNH 1962.5.17.1-2 (2), BMNH 1962.5.17.3-4 (2), Univ. College Ibadab (4), ZMB 21645 (1), ZMUC P17110-50 (41), plus non-type material. Type catalog: Nielsen 1974:11 [ref. 9588]. •Valid as Denticeps clupeoides Clausen 1959 -- (Greenwood 1968:215 [ref. 21396], Daget 1984:40 [ref. 6170], Teugels in Lévêque et al. 1990:95 [ref. 21589], Lévèque et al. 1991:133 [ref. 31367], Poll & Gosse 1995:81 [ref. 24781], Vreven & Teugels 2007:205 [ref. 30017]). Current status: Valid as Denticeps clupeoides Clausen 1959. Denticipitidae. Distribution: West-central Africa: Cameroon and Nigeria. Habitat: freshwater.
