Syntypes: BMNH 1906.9.8.7 (1), 1906.9.8.8-9 (2), 1906.9.8.10 (1), 1906.9.8.11 (1), 1906.9.8.12-13 (2), 1906.9.8.14-18 (5), 1906.9.8.19-25 (7), 1906.9.8.16-28 (3, c&s), 1972.11.8.1 (1). Some syntypes are also syntypes of Stolothrissa tanganicae Regan 1917. •Valid as Limnothrissa miodon (Boulenger 1906) -- (Poll et al. 1984:45 [ref. 6172], Whitehead 1985:160 [ref. 5141], Gourène & Teugels 1993:367 [ref. 22318], Skelton 1993:110 [ref. 24071], Poll & Gosse 1995:129 [ref. 24781], Skelton 2001:110 [ref. 27406], De Vos et al. 2001:129 [ref. 26059], Marshall 2011:65 [ref. 31755]). Current status: Valid as Limnothrissa miodon (Boulenger 1906). Dorosomatidae. Distribution: Lake Tanganyika, southeastern Africa; introduced elsewhere. Habitat: freshwater.
