Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Madagascar, Saint Brandon's Shoals (Cargados Carajos) and western Mascarenes (La RĂ©union, Mauritius) east to Christmas Island and Cocos-Keeling Islands (Australia); New Caledonia east to Pitcairn Group; Marianas east to Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.) and Line Islands (Kiribati), north to Ryukyu Islands (Japan); bipolar west-east distribution, no records from Australia and Indonesia to Japan. Habitat: marine.
