Current status: Valid as Amphiprion bicinctus Rüppell 1830. Pomacentridae: Pomacentrinae. Distribution: Red Sea; western Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden, Socotra (Yemen); Seychelles; Chagos Archipelago (British Indian Ocean Territory). Habitat: marine.
