mixtus, Labrus Linnaeus [C.] 1758:287 [Systema Naturae, Ed. X v. 1; ref. 2787] [Liburni] Liburnia = northern Dalmatia, Croatia, northeastern Adriatic Sea (Mediterranean Sea). Neotype: UUZM 193. Spelled mixtys by Bloch & Schneider 1801:267 [ref. 471], corrected in Corrigenda, p. 575. See Opinion 1954 in June 2000 in which bimaculatus is established as a cichlid and mixtus becomes the type species of the labrid genus Labrus. Neotype designated by Kullander 1997:113 [ref. 24551].
