Lectotype selected by Boeseman 1947:155 [ref. 12876]. •Synonym of Carassius auratus (Linnaeus 1758), but a valid subspecies -- (Sawada in Masuda et al. 1984:58 [ref. 6441], Zhou in Chu & Chen 1989:352 [ref. 13584], Zhu 1995:99, 203 [ref. 25213]). •Valid as Carassius cuvieri Temminck & Schlegel 1846 -- (Okamura & Machida 1987:101 [ref. 22279], Kawanabe & Mizuno 1989:346 [ref. 25598], Kim 1997:509 [ref. 24032], Watanabe 1998:262 [ref. 23491], Nakabo 2000:253 [ref. 25086], Matsuura et al. 2000:73 [ref. 26000], Sakai et al. 2001:87 [ref. 25693], Nakabo 2002:253 [ref. 26001], Choi et al. 2003:157, 501 [ref. 26218], Kalous et al. 2012:11 [ref. 32063], Rylková et al. 2018:[6] [ref. 35881]).
