bonang, Glyphisodon Bleeker [P.] 1852:582 [Natuurkundig Tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch Indië v. 3 (no. 4); ref. 334] Padang, Sumatra, Indonesia. Syntypes: (2) ?BMNH 1862.2.28.30 (1), RMNH 6486 (largest of 5). Kottelat provides a freshwater record from the Andaman Islands. •Valid as Neoglyphidodon bonang (Bleeker 1852) -- (Allen 1991:246 [ref. 19344], Allen 2001:3344 [ref. 26132] dated 1853, Allen & Adrim 2003:46 [ref. 26830], Allen & Erdmann 2012:602 [ref. 31980], Parenti 2021:67 [ref. 38418], Allen 2022:146 [ref. 39911]). Current status: Valid as Neoglyphidodon bonang (Bleeker 1852). Pomacentridae: Pomacentrinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean: Sri Lanka and Andaman Islands (India) east to Sumatra, Java, Bali and Komodo (Indonesia). Habitat: marine.
