Lectotype selected by Román-Valencia 2002:185 [ref. 26370]. •Valid as Bryconamericus scleroparius (Regan 1908) -- (Ovchynnyk 1967:28 [ref. 37559], Villa 1982:103 [ref. 36708], Bussing 1987:77 [ref. 22927], Bussing 1998:97 [ref. 24179], Román-Valencia 2002:184 [ref. 26370], Silva in Reis et al. 2003:118 [ref. 27061], Román-Valencia & Vanegas-Rios 2009:393 [ref. 30843], Román-Valencia et al. 2009:2 [ref. 30393], Mirande 2010:520 [ref. 31006] as Bryconamericus scleroparius clade, Angulo et al. 2013:992 [ref. 33194]). •Valid as Eretmobrycon scleroparius (Regan 1908) -- (Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:54 [ref. 35633], Angulo et al. 2023:24 [ref. 40676], Malabarba 2024:156 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Eretmobrycon scleroparius (Regan 1908). Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: Central and South America: coastal rivers (Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia and Panama). Habitat: freshwater.
