Type catalog: Ferraris & Vari 1992:40 [ref. 19771], Ferraris 2007:378 [ref. 29155]. On p. 8 of separate. Garman regarded Glanis aristotelis Agassiz as unavailable and proposed the name Silurus aristotelis for the same specimens; Kottelat 1997:94 [ref. 22952] agrees with Garman, Ferraris 2007:378 [ref. 29155] does not. •Valid as Silurus aristotelis Garman 1890 -- (Kottelat 1997:94 [ref. 22952], Ferraris 2007:378 [ref. 29155], Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:340 [ref. 29996], Barbieri et al. 2015:78 [ref. 35029], Hibino & Tabata 2018:522 [ref. 36069]). Current status: Valid as Silurus aristotelis Garman 1890. Siluridae. Distribution: Greece. Habitat: freshwater.
