Lectotype: RMNH 4977. Paralectotypes and/or Bleeker specimens: AMS B.7533 (1), BMNH 1866.5.2.39 (1), RMNH 2397 (2). Spelled choirorrhynchus in Bleeker 1863:9 [ref. 4859]. Lectotype selected by Alfred 1961:33 [ref. 20552]. •Valid as Acantopsis choirorhynchos (Bleeker 1854) -- (Roberts 1989:97 [ref. 6439], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:518 [ref. 20764], Ye in Pan et al. 1991:252 [ref. 23876] as Acanthopsis, Menon 1992:102 [ref. 23970], Zhu 1995:126 [ref. 25213] as Acanthopsis choirorhyrchos, Sontirat 1999:67 [ref. 23935], Vishwanath & Laisram 2005:434 [ref. 28250], Zhang et al. 2016:151 [ref. 34477]). •Synonym of Acanthopsis dialuzona van Hasselt 1823 -- (Kottelat 2012:22 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:177 [ref. 32989], Boyd et al. 2017:163 [ref. 35656]). Current status: Synonym of Acantopsis dialuzona van Hasselt 1823. Cobitidae. Habitat: freshwater.
