moorii, Barilius Boulenger [G. A.] 1900:480 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 7) v. 6 (no. 35); ref. 14721] North end of Lake Tanganyika, Burundi. Lectotype: BMNH 1906.6.69.22 [?1906.9.6.22]. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1906.9.6.23-25 [?1906.6.69.23-25](3). Original is moorii, named for J. E. S. Moore; often emended to moorei but Boulenger named several species after Moore as moorii, and this is consistent with formation of the name by dropping the "e" and adding "ii". The change to moorei is not a mandatory one, and the spelling moorei is determined not to have attained prevailing usage status, so we suggest using moorii. Lectotype selected by Seegers 1996:160 [ref. 23725]. •Valid as Raiamas moorii (Boulenger 1900) -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:334 [ref. 6186] as moorei, Seegers 1996:160 [ref. 23725], Taverne & De Vos 1997:298 [ref. 23730], De Vos et al. 2001:130, 131 [ref. 26059], Kullander & Roberts 2012:368 [ref. 31751], Manda et al. 2018:359 [ref. 36210]). Current status: Valid as Raiamas moorii (Boulenger 1900). Danionidae: Chedrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
