Unpublished drawing shown in Gray, 1831, v. 1, pl. 19; also reproduced by Britz 2019:Pl. 17 [ref. 37532]. •Valid as Moringua raitaborua (Hamilton 1822) -- (Ataur Rahman 1989:45 [ref. 24860] as rataboura, Talwar & Jhingran 1991:77 [ref. 20764], Kottelat et al. 1993:10 [ref. 23448], Karmakar 2000:27 [ref. 25662] as raitabarua, Ataur Rahman 2003:58 [ref. 31338], Shrestha 2008:45 [ref. 29923], Kottelat 2013:40 [ref. 32989], Miesen et al. 2016:81 [ref. 34492], Bleher 2018:74 [ref. 36647], Behera et al. 2021:[3] [ref. 38421], Jamandre 2023:160 [ref. 40455]). Current status: Valid as Moringua raitaborua (Hamilton 1822). Moringuidae. Distribution: Northern Indian Ocean drainages: India, Nepal and Bangladesh (and possibly China, Philippines, Indonesia, New Guinea, etc. on Kottelat 2013:40 [ref. 32989]). Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
