Holotype (unique): possibly was at BSMP (presumed destroyed). •Valid as Heteroconger chapmani (Herre 1923) -- (Smith 1989:485 [ref. 13285], Smith 1999:1686 [ref. 24661]). •Regarded as unidentifiable -- (Castle & Randall 1999:2, 7 [ref. 24042]). Current status: Valid as Heteroconger chapmani (Herre 1923). Congridae: Heterocongrinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific. Habitat: marine.
