Holotype: UF 92070. Paratypes: UF 79980 (17) and numerous other paratypes. •Valid as Micropterus cataractae Williams & Burgess 1999 -- (Near et al. 2003:1615 [ref. 26940], Nelson et al. 2004:131 [ref. 27807], Boschung & Mayden 2004:463 [ref. 27995], Scharpf 2008:17 [ref. 30399], Page & Burr 2011:497 [ref. 31215], Bagley et al. 2011:348 [ref. 31509], Page et al. 2013:135 [ref. 32708], Robins et al. 2018:290 [ref. 35886], Kim et al. 2022:3 [ref. 39605]). Current status: Valid as Micropterus cataractae Williams & Burgess 1999. Centrarchidae: Lepominae. Distribution: Southeastern North America: Georgia, Florida and Alabama (U.S.A.). Habitat: freshwater.
