hallstromi, Hemiscyllium Whitley [G. P.] 1967:178 [Australian Zoologist v. 14 (no. 2); ref. 8001] Papua New Guinea. Lectotype: AMS I.15717-001. Paralectotypes: AMS 15584-001 (1). The type specimens were still alive and in the aquarium at Taronga Zoo in June 1970 (Whitley 1970:242 [ref. 6601]). Although Whitley designated a holotype, it was impossible to determine the specimen (see Dingerkus & DeFino 1983:40 [ref. 5386], so they designated a lectotype). Not treated as valid by Goto 2001:81 [ref. 25912]. •Valid as Hemiscyllium hallstromi Whitley 1967 -- (Dingerkus & DeFino 1983:40 [ref. 5386], Compagno 1984:197 [ref. 6474], Compagno & Niem 1998:1258 [ref. 23787], Compagno 1999:476 [ref. 25589], Compagno 2001:180 [ref. 26323], Allen & Adrim 2003:21 [ref. 26830], Allen & Erdmann 2008:94 [ref. 29476], Allen & Dudgeon 2010:26 [ref. 30713], Allen & Erdmann 2012:49 [ref. 31980], Allen et al. 2013:124 [ref. 32791], Weigmann 2016:9 [ref. 34211], Allen et al. 2016:70 [ref. 35399], White et al. 2018:72 [ref. 35860], White & Ko'ou 2018:19 [ref. 35922], Dudgeon et al. 2020:B [ref. 37271], Allen & Erdmann 2024:49 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Hemiscyllium hallstromi Whitley 1967. Hemiscylliidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Gulf of Papua (southern Papua New Guinea); Torres Strait region (Queensland, Australia). Habitat: marine.
