Holotype: MEPN 4622. Paratypes: MEPN 4642 (7), 6380 (7); USNM 340974-75 (8, 4). •Valid as Creagrutus flavescens Vari & Harold 2001 -- (Vari & Harold in Reis et al. 2003:123 [ref. 27061], Mirande et al. 2013:763 [ref. 33366], Barriga Salazar 2014:107 [ref. 35745], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:57 [ref. 35633], Albornoz-Garzón et al. 2020:372 [ref. 37405], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:18 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Creagrutus flavescens Vari & Harold 2001. Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: upper Amazon River basin (Colombia, Ecuador and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
