menezesi, Creagrutus Vari [R. P.] & Harold [A. S.] 2001:153, Figs. 63-64 [Smithsonian Contributions to Zoology No. 613; ref. 25842] Rio Tocantins basin, Ribeirão Paranoa do Meio, at road crossing 11 air kilometers north northeast of Formosa, about 15°25'S, 47°18'W, Goiás, Brazil. Holotype: MZUSP 50544. Paratypes: MNRJ 12614 (8), 17333 (10), 17338 (11); MZUSP 50545 (8); USNM 292229 (11, 2 c&s), 350456 [in part ex MNRJ 16566] (10), 350456 [in part ex MNRJ 16562] (5). •Valid as Creagrutus menezesi Vari & Harold 2001 -- (Vari & Harold in Reis et al. 2003:124 [ref. 27061], Mirande et al. 2013:763 [ref. 33366], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], Koerber et al. 2022:41 [ref. 39235]). Current status: Valid as Creagrutus menezesi Vari & Harold 2001. Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: Tocantis River basin and tentatively Bronco and Negro River near mouth of Branco (northeastern Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
