Holotype: MBUCV-V-29605. Paratypes: FMNH 109352-53 (3, 3), 109355-60 (1, 1, 3, 10, 1, 2), 109362 (12); MBUCV-V-29606-11 (7, 3, 2, 3, 12, 2). •Valid as Bryconops imitator Chernoff & Machado-Allison 2002 -- (Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:120 [ref. 27061], Chernoff & Machado-Allison 2005:22 [ref. 28573], Silva-Oliveira & Lima 2024:374 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Bryconops imitator Chernoff & Machado-Allison 2002. Iguanodectidae. Distribution: South America: Caura River basin, Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
