Holotype: ZSM 29429. Paratypes: AMNH 232234-35 (4, 1); MRAC 2001-59-P-1-2 (2); ZSM 29430 (4). Type catalog: Neumann 2011:249 [ref. 31652]. The specific name is a noun in apposition. •Valid as Etia nguti Schliewen & Stiassny 2003 -- (Stiassny et al. 2007:349 [ref. 30045] dated 2001, Dunz & Schliewer 2013:70 [ref. 32672]). Current status: Valid as Etia nguti Schliewen & Stiassny 2003. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: West-central Africa: Cameroon. Habitat: freshwater.
