Zoologia. v. 16 (no. 1); ref. 27141] Rio Forqueta, Marquês de Souza, Lageado, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Holotype: MZUSP 82262. Paratypes: MCP 19510 (63, 5 c&s), 19516 (30); MNRJ 23845 (20); MZUSP 18984 (34); USNM 337244 (20), 337599 (14). Combined with a neuter genus, the adjective should be dicropotamicum. •Valid as Cyanocharax dicropotamicus Malabarba & Weitzman 2003 -- (Casciotta et al. 2012:39 [ref. 32076], Protogino & Miquelarena 2012:581 [ref. 32123]). •Valid as Diapoma dicropotamicum (Malabarba & Weitzman 2003) -- (Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893] as dicropotamicus, Bertaco et al. 2016:413 [ref. 34561] as dicropotamicus). Current status: Valid as Diapoma dicropotamicum (Malabarba & Weitzman 2003). Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: northern tributaries of the Jacuí River, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
