Type catalog: Nadalin & López 2015:1 [ref. 34112]. •Valid as Astyanax pampa Casciotta, Almirón & Azpelicueta 2005 -- (Mirande et al. 2006:65 [ref. 28784], Vari & Castro 2007:157 [ref. 29039], Pérez 2008:424 [ref. 30526], Koerber 2011:3 [ref. 31122], Koerber 2014:4 [ref. 33621], Mirande & Koerber 2015:24 [ref. 35117]). •Valid as Psalidodon pampa (Casciotta, Almirón & Azpelicueta 2005) -- (Mirande & Koerber 2020:2 [ref. 37594], Terán et al. 2020:10 [ref. 37440]). Current status: Valid as Psalidodon pampa (Casciotta, Almirón & Azpelicueta 2005). Characidae: Stethaprioninae. Distribution: South America: southern Buenos Aires Province to Negro River (possible introduction) (Argentina). Habitat: freshwater.
