Holotype: ANSP 170608. Paratypes: Many lots at ANSP, FMNH, KU, MEPN. Plus non-type material. •Valid as Odontostilbe ecuadorensis Bührnheim & Malabarba 2006 -- (Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:19 [ref. 39298], Chuctaya & Malabarba 2024:240 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Odontostilbe ecuadorensis Bührnheim & Malabarba 2006. Characidae: Cheirodontinae. Distribution: South America: Ecuador and Ecuador-Peru border. Habitat: freshwater.
