Holotype: FMNH 115489. Paratypes: many at FMNH, INPA, MCP. Plus many non-type specimens. Type catalog: Ferraris et al. 2017:[13] [ref. 35236]. •Valid as Sternarchorhynchus cramptoni de Santana & Vari 2010 -- (Ferraris et al. 2017:[13] [ref. 35236], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:21 [ref. 39298], Torgersen et al. 2023:777 [ref. 40692]). Current status: Valid as Sternarchorhynchus cramptoni de Santana & Vari 2010. Apteronotidae: Apteronotinae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River (Brazil, Colombia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
