Current status: Valid as Chlorurus atrilunula (Randall & Bruce 1983). Labridae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) and East Africa (Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya) east to Madagascar. Habitat: marine.
