Paratypes: UMMZ 208250 (28, now 27, 2 c&s), 208265 (5); USNM 226900 (4). Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:50 [ref. 23395]. •Valid as Cyprinella bocagrande (Chernoff & Miller 1982) -- (Mayden 1989:57 [ref. 12555], Mayden & Hillis 1990:1005 [ref. 19122], Espinosa Pérez et al. 1993:11 [ref. 22290], Gilbert 1998:50 [ref. 23395], Nelson et al. 2004:69 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2005:12 [ref. 28940], Miller 2006:110 [ref. 28615], Schönhuth & Mayden 2009:78 [ref. 38584], Page et al. 2013:69 [ref. 32708], Page et al. 2023:68 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Cyprinella bocagrande (Chernoff & Miller 1982). Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Distribution: Southern North America: Ojo Solo, about 39 kilometers west of Villa Ahumada (Chihuahua, Mexico) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
