The NightLife Event Program Manager is responsible for successful programmatic development and execution of the Academy’s weekly NightLife event that draws 2,000+ attendees. The ideal candidate is creative and fearless with a talent for bringing innovative vision to large-scale event experiences. Key responsibilities include taking a lead role in theme development, curating dynamic and unique programming, and co-producing events from start to finish; refining the overall NightLife programming strategy and managing event partnerships and outreach.
Reporting to the Science Action Club (SAC) Manager, the Education Marketing Coordinator is responsible for producing graphic and written content for promotional materials that help SAC tell our story and engage new audiences. The position will produce flyers and reports, coordinate email and social media campaigns, and make occasional updates to SAC's webpages and learning management system. This is a Security Officer position with a heavy emphasis on interaction with guests. The Security Officer reports to a Security Shift Supervisor and provides security, safety and guest services in both public and non-public areas of the Academy campus. The position requires good observation, discretion, professional writing, speaking and public relations skills. The physical ability to stand at indoor and outdoor posts, operate doors and climb stairs is required. This is an on-call position, hours are assigned on an as-needed basis and it is required to be available at least three times a week. Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, the California Academy of Sciences is open to the public 365 days a year.
