Dive into the heart of the Academy’s iconic Philippine coral reef tank as thousands of tropical fish flutter by. Travel the globe to explore coral reefs teeming with life and learn how scientists are racing to develop sustainable solutions to protect these vitally important ecosystems for the future.

Along the way, discover how corals live, breathe, and reproduce, supporting a quarter of all marine life on Earth and providing critical benefits to human communities in our ever-changing world.

 

Tips for Scheduling Free Seats in the Planetarium

Expedition Reef (Grades 3-12) is scheduled on weekdays through February 14, 2019.

A total of 150 seats are available in the 11:30 am and 1:30 pm presentations during the school year (10:30 am and 1:30 pm during the summer), and seats are booked on a first-come, first-served basis as field trip applications roll in.

The wisest of all field trip organizers use these Planetarium schedules to select visit dates that overlap with their favorite Planetarium show, and they make sure to request those visit dates and that show title on their field trip application!
