Marlier’s Forest Snake, Geodipsas depressiceps marlieri
Family Colubridae. Apparently an Albertine Rift endemic, ours may be the second known specimen of G. d. marlieri from Uganda. Geodipsas is currently the only colubrid genus shared between Africa and Madagascar. Diurnal, our specimen was collected on the Buhoma Road.
Size: to 443 mm. TL
Habitat: apparently found in damp bottom of secondary valleys in upland primary forest.
Range: (for the species): Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Congo-Brazzaville, northern Congo, Central African Republic and Uganda.
