[The catfishes of Africa; ref. 29708] Stream in Ruhuhu drainage (Werera River?), Malawi system, 44 kilometers south of Njombe, Tanzania, 9°32'S, 35°06'E. Holotype: ZMB 33756. Paratypes: BMNH 2007.2.28.1-17 (17); MRAC 2007-07-P-1-2 (2), 2007-07-P-3 (1), 2007-07-P-4-8 (5); ZMB 33757 (10), 33758 (6), 33579 (6). Description continued on p. 542. •Valid as Amphilius chalei Seegers 2008 -- (Thomson & Page 2010:49 [ref. 30999]). •Valid as Anoplopterus chalei (Seegers 2008) -- (Skelton & Page 2025:320 [ref. 42499]). Current status: Valid as Anoplopterus chalei (Seegers 2008). Amphiliidae: Amphiliinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Tanzania. Habitat: freshwater.
