Paratypes: ORIT 1127-1132 (6), 1147 (1), 1148 (1), 1281-1289 (9), 1394/1-7 (7); ZUMT 54127-54130 (4). •Valid as Diaphus kuroshio Kawaguchi & Nafpaktitis 1978 -- (Paxton 1979:10 [ref. 6440], Fujii in Masuda et al. 1984:72 [ref. 6441], Shinohara et al. 1994:71 [ref. 22800], Shinohara et al. 1996:165 [ref. 26605], Nakabo 2000:395 [ref. 25086], Nakabo 2002:395 [ref. 26001], Mundy 2005:217 [ref. 28379], Prokofiev et al. 2022:11 [ref. 38957]). Current status: Valid as Diaphus kuroshio Kawaguchi & Nafpaktitis 1978. Myctophidae: Diaphinae. Distribution: Western and central North Pacific: Japan to Hancock Seamount (Hawaiian Ridge). Habitat: marine.
