The natural history of the Galápagos Island are presented in this book. The author, an biology professor and eco-tourguide, presents detailed information, including what you can expect to find on each island. References are included at the end of every chapter, and photographs are interspersed throughout the volume to suit images to words.

The author has created a desert garden around his home in Tempe, Arizona. But along with the general enjoyment that people get from such an enterprise, this biologist has minutely examined the habitat he has created, and has recreated it for us in text and illustration. His observations, and observations on desert ecology in general, are both entertaining and informative.

Charles Henry Turner was born at a time when African Americans had just been freed from slavery. He was fascinated by insects from the time he was a boy, and by the time he entered the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, the only African American person in his class, he knew that he wanted to make science his life's work.
The great book about Turner is interspersed with great facts about insects, and activities and items you can do and make at home.

In this historical picture book, the author traces the history of the Nashua River from the time of its naming by Native Americans, through the arrival of European settlers, the wars that erupted between the communities, the polluting of the river, and the redemption of the river as pollution was ended and the animals returned. The beautiful images and entertaining borders are sure to encourage the imagination.

What might it be like if you spent the day in a wetland? Osprey, racoons, insects, fog, and loons might be some of the sights you would see. This book highlights what you might see in that wetland, and allows you to take a visit without ever getting your feet wet.

The goal of the book was to create a more exciting environment for learning and teaching about science, and they have done their work well.
