This charming book contains a great deal of information about the only flying mammal, the bat. Along with a small section on bat ancestors, this book describes a variety of bat species. The book also talk about how bats see, hear, and find food. The much talked of, and sometimes feared, vampire bat is also given attention.
The book contains many photographs and drawings. It also has an index and a glossary of "Words to Know."

Eco Sense: An Economic Environmental Learning Kit / Minneapolis, MN: Minnesota Council on Economic Education, 1992.

Eco Sense is intended to provide a new approach for teaching students at a 7th - 12th grade level about the environmental impact of waste management. The kit includes five teaching units, and each unit begins with objectives, economic and environmental concepts, and background information. Each section also has activities and handouts to accompany it.
The units contained in the kit include "The Environment and Solid Waste," "Waste Management Methods," "Consumer Demand," "Responses and Initiatives," and "Defining the 'Rules of the Game.'" The kit can used in a variety of subject areas, including economics, home economics, life sciences and health, mathematics, and social sciences.
