The 2003 edition is the twenty-fifth and last issue of the annual Newsletter, whose purpose has been to increase communication between persons engaged in systematic studies of fishes. To that end, we hope the Newsletter has had some modicum of success. Owing to our move to temporary quarters in 2004 and a drastic reduction in staff, we were forced to terminate production of the informal publication. However, DeepFin.org, operating out of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, has taken over the Newsletter, and we encourage others to participate to keep this valuable information source alive. We appreciate the interest, participation, and support that so many of you have shown over the 25 years we produced the Newsletter, and we hope it has been helpful in disseminating information about the activities of systematic ichthyologists around the world. The financial assistance of ASIH, H&N Foods International, and several generous donors is gratefully acknowledged.
