Syntypes: ZSI F11678 (1) station 14, F11724 (1) station 6. Type catalog: Menon & Yazdani 1968:138 [ref. 20743]. Original genus should have been Macrourus. On p. 21 of separate. Figured in Alcock 1900: Pl. 29 (figs. 4, 4a) [ref. 20536]. •Synonym of Nezumia semiquincunciata (Alcock 1889) -- (Iwamoto 1986:339 [ref. 5674]). •Valid as Nezumia polylepis (Alcock 1889) -- (Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:263 [ref. 18936]). Current status: Valid as Nezumia polylepis (Alcock 1889). Macrouridae. Distribution: Indian Ocean. Habitat: marine.
