Type catalog: Henn 1928:65 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:48 [ref. 12367]. •Valid as Hyphessobrycon minor Durbin 1909 -- (Weitzman & Palmer 1997:229 [ref. 22743], Weitzman & Palmer 1997:145 [ref. 24509], Lima & Malabarba in Reis et al. 2003:138 [ref. 27061], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:[9] [ref. 35679], Taphorn et al. 2022:16 [ref. 41297]). Current status: Valid as Hyphessobrycon minor Durbin 1909. Acestrorhamphidae: Hyphessobryconinae. Distribution: South America: Essequibo River basin (Guyana) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
