Syntypes: (3) CAS 60493 [ex IU 17346] (now 2), UMMZ 66489 (1). •Valid as Pyrrhulina beni Pearson 1924 -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:10 [ref. 9708], Weitzman & Weitzman in Reis et al. 2003:247 [ref. 27061], Netto-Ferreira & Marinho 2013:374 [ref. 32716], Sarmiento et al. 2014:186 [ref. 35004], Netto-Ferreira 2024:389 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Pyrrhulina beni Pearson 1924. Lebiasinidae: Pyrrhulininae. Distribution: South America: western Amazon River basin, Bolivia, Brazil and Peru. Habitat: freshwater.
