Type catalog: Hutchins & Smith 1991:42 [ref. 19335], Moore et al. 2008:49 [ref. 30117]. •Valid as Aioliops tetrophthalmus Rennis & Hoese 1987 -- (Hutchins 2001:44 [ref. 25847], Larson 2001:3608 [ref. 26296] as tetraopthalmus, Hoese 2006:1706 [ref. 28998], Parenti 2021:398 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Aioliops tetrophthalmus Rennis & Hoese 1987. Gobiidae: Ptereleotrinae. Distribution: Southwestern Pacific: Queensland (Australia). Habitat: marine.
