Syntypes: KIZ 579301-03 (1, 1, 1), 58002 (1), 58008 (1), 646663-65 (1, 1, 1), 646667 (1), 646672 (1), 646674-75 (1, 1), 646680 (1), 646682 (1); BU 1-3 (1, 1, 1) [? = WHI 12209007 (17)]. Apparently the original spellng should have been exiguus when combined with a masculine genus. •Valid as Barbodes exigua Wu & Lin 1977 -- (Chu & Cui in Chu & Chen 1989:198 [ref. 13584], Zhu 1995:56 [ref. 25213], Chen in Chen 1998:150 [ref. 23556], Shan et al. in Yue 2000:33 [ref. 25272]). •Valid as Poropuntius exigua (Wu & Lin 1977) -- (Roberts 1998:122 [ref. 23549]). •Valid as Barbodes exiguus Wu & Lin 1977 -- (Chen et al. 1999:84 [ref. 23883], Zhang et al. 2016:95 [ref. 34477]). •Valid as Poropuntius exiguus (Wu & Lin 1977) -- (Zhang & Fang 2005:61 [ref. 28089], Kottelat 2013:144 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Poropuntius exiguus (Wu & Lin 1977). Cyprinidae: Cyprininae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Erhai Lake drainage, Yunnan, China. Habitat: freshwater.
