Current status: Valid as Chaenophryne melanorhabdus Regan & Trewavas 1932. Oneirodidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean: Sumatra (Indonesia); western Pacific; eastern Pacific: southern British Columbia (Canada) south to Peru. Habitat: marine.
