multisquamatus, Incara Rao [V. V.] 1971:329, Figs. 1-2 [Journal of the Marine Biological Association of India v. 11 (nos 1-2) [1969]; ref. 12496] Godavari estuary, eastern India. Holotype (unique): ZMAU. The genus Incara is based on an artificial combination of letters and was treated by the author as masculine; so the correct spelling is Incara multisquamata. See Das 2003:372 [ref. 27706] but spelled multisguamatus. •Valid as Incara multisquamatus Rao 1971 -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:977 [ref. 20764], Larson & Williams 1997:371 [ref. 23967], Hutchins 2001:44 [ref. 25847], Larson & Murdy 2001:3577 [ref. 26293] as multisquamata, Hoese 2006:1604 [ref. 28998]. Larson et al. 2013:186 [ref. 32988] as multisquamata, Parenti 2021:22 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Incara multisquamatus Rao 1971. Eleotridae: Butinae. Distribution: Northeastern Indian Ocean: Godavari estuary (India). Habitat: brackish, marine.
