The California Academy of Sciences is facing an exciting future. In 2008, the entire facility will move from its interim location on Howard Street to a new, state-of-the-art facility back at our old site in Golden Gate Park.

*****WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OFFER OUR REU PROGRAM, THE SUMMER SYSTEMATICS INSTITUTE (SSI), FOR THE SUMMER 2008 SEASON*****

We were able to come to this decision only recently, and reluctantly. We apologize for any inconvenience that this notice might cause for those of you considering submission of an application to the SSI for summer of 2008. We hope that if you are eligible, you will consider us for the Summer of 2009 and beyond. We have just secured funding for the program for 5 years starting in 2009, so we will definitely be ready then to offer stimulating programs in a forward-looking academic atmosphere at the new Academy. Our faculty looks forward to that opportunity, and hope you will too.
