CURATORS: The staff of the department includes five curators, who oversee curation of the collections and conduct research in their areas of specialization.

Dr. Gary C. Williams, Curator and Department Chair - Specializes in systematics and phylogeny of octocorals

Dr. Terrence M. Gosliner, Senior Curator - Specializes in phylogeny, biogeography and systematics of opisthobranch molluscs

Dr. Richard J. Mooi, Curator - Specializes in the phylogeny of the Echinodermata, particularly echinoids

Dr. Peter D. Roopnarine, Associate Curator - Specializes in paleontology of marine mollusks and conodonts

RESEARCHERS:

Dr. Louie Marincovich, Adjunct Curator of Palontology - Specializes in paleontology of Cenozoic marine mollusks, particularly those in the Arctic.
Dr. Michael T. Ghiselin, chair of the Center for the History and Philosophy of Science and specialist in the phylogeny and systematics of mollusks.
Dr. Elizabeth Fourtanier, research scientist working on the systematics and taxonomy of fossil and marine diatoms.
Dr. Marta Pola-Perez, working with T. Gosliner on the phylogeny and systematics of dorid nudibranchs.
