Paratypes: SAIAB 85039 (6). Plus additional non-type material. Combined with a masculine gender, the adjective should be angusticaudatus. •Valid as Heteromormyrus angusticaudatus Mutizwa, Kadye, Bragança & Chakona 2025. Current status: Valid as Heteromormyrus angusticaudatus Mutizwa, Kadye, Bragança & Chakona 2025. Mormyridae. Distribution: Southern Africa: upper and middle Kwanza River basin, Angola. Habitat: freshwater.
