Holotype: UMMZ 235022. Paratypes: AMNH, MHNG, UMMZ. •Valid as Paretroplus risengi Sparks & Sparks 2025. Current status: Valid as Paretroplus risengi Sparks & Sparks 2025. Cichlidae: Etroplinae. Distribution: Northwestern Madagascar: lower and middle Anjingo and Ankofia River basins, including Lac Andrapongy. Habitat: freshwater.
