Hemigrammopetersius Pellegrin [J.] 1926:158 Masc. Petersius pulcher Boulenger 1909. Type by subsequent designation. Type designated by Burton in Zoological Record for 1926, not Petersius major Boulenger as designated by Myers 1929:6 [ref. 42109]. Apparently, Melo & Stiassny 2024:6 [ref. 41653] acted as first revisors and selected Hemigrammopetersius over Hemigrammalestes. •Synonym of Phenacogrammus Eigenmann 1907 -- (Géry 1995:46 [ref. 22057] by placement of type species). •Valid as Hemigrammopetersius Pellegrin 1926 -- (Géry 1977:38 [ref. 1597], Paugy 1984:168 [ref. 6183], Poll & Gosse 1995:147 [ref. 24781], Mirande 2009:6 [ref. 30267] in Alestidae, Mirande 2010:474 [ref. 31006], Melo & Stiassny 2024:6 [ref. 41653]). Current status: Valid as Hemigrammopetersius Pellegrin 1926. Alestidae.
